Ad says it was made in 2012. Sill no buyer in 4 years however. Talk about collecting dust on the shelf! I am assuming it was not made on spec so the first buyer backed out or was rubbed out. Even with all the cash the hoodlums that run these Russian companies today have, they won’t buy it. I am assuming again that they want to look like western hoodlums running large companies. Don’t blame them, I wouldn’t want this boat anchor no matter the price. Perhaps a limo company will buy it and paint it pink for weddings and such.

ZiLs aren’t appealing to the Russian upper class - they want something more modern and with more technology, the German brands dominate the luxury market there. ZiLs are primarily bought by the government, and a tiny handful of private buyers that really want something domestic.
Even in Soviet times, production was never much more than a dozen or so a year, but they’re lucky if they hit that figure now. ZiL can go years without selling a car, in between government orders.
